Compress JPG

Add photos, pick a quality, and get much smaller files. Photos never leave your device.

Checking your remaining conversions…

Conversion runs only in this browser. Your files are never uploaded.

How to use the Compress JPG

Use it for email or upload forms with a size limit, for chat apps and message boards, or to make large phone photos lighter. Phone photos usually shrink by 70–90%.

  1. Drop all the photos you want to compress.
  2. Pick a quality and a maximum size. Medium and 2560 pixels are a good start.
  3. Press Compress to save JPGs. Several photos arrive in one ZIP.

Choosing a quality

  • High: hardly any visible difference, a little smaller. Good for printing.
  • Medium: looks the same on screen and is much smaller. Right for most photos.
  • Low: the smallest files, for very strict size limits.

Good to know

Transparent parts of PNGs become white. Photo details such as location (EXIF) are not kept. Photos that are already small are kept as they are.

Frequently asked questions

Will the photos look worse?

At Medium the difference is hard to see on a phone or monitor. Zoomed in, there may be very slight changes.

How many photos at once?

There is no limit. Everything runs on this device, so very large batches are faster in parts.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens only in the browser you are using. The server records only how many conversions you made today.
