Merge HWP

Add Hangul files, set the order, and get one combined document.

Checking your remaining conversions…

Conversion runs only in this browser. Your files are never uploaded.

How to use the Merge HWP

Use it to join chapters written as separate files, drafts from several people, or an application with its attachments. The result is HWPX, which opens in Hangul 2014 and later.

  1. Drop all the HWP or HWPX files you want to combine.
  2. Use the arrows to set the order. Files at the top come first.
  3. Press Merge HWP to save one .hwpx file.

What carries over

  • Text formatting, alignment and indents
  • Tables, merged cells and cell colours
  • Images and footnotes
  • Each file starts on a new page unless you turn that off.

Check after merging

Paper size and margins follow the first file. Headers, footers and page numbers are not carried over.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save as .hwp?

The result is .hwpx, the current standard Hangul format. Hangul can re-save it as HWP.

Can I mix HWP and HWPX?

Yes. Both are combined into one HWPX.

How many files can I merge?

There is no limit on files or pages. Everything runs on this device, so we recommend up to 30 files and 200 MB in total at a time; beyond that you will see a warning first. Each file can be up to 100 MB on a computer and 30 MB on a phone.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens only in the browser you are using. The server records only how many conversions you made today.
